Description
Institutional integration is one component of international political integration (separately described) and may be defined as the development of international institutions. A distinction is made between strong and weak central institutions, and in one view the former are necessary for a high degree of other types of integration to occur. The degree of jurisdictional integration of institutional power is determined by such factors as: the supranationality of decision-making, the scope of legal powers, and the fulfilment of that scope.
