Construction and development of models of global phenomena based on mathematical and computer-assisted simulations. The purpose of such models is to obtain an insight into the structure and function of complex, dynamic, global systems in order to predict their behaviour by analogy with the behaviour of the models. The emphasis of a model may be placed on economic, social, political, technological, military or other aspects, or may interrelate some or all of these.
