Allopoietic system

Name
Allopoietic system
Description
Description

A system in which the product of operation of the system is different from the system itself. The majority of systems are allopoietic. For example, in a man-made system such as an automobile, there is a concatenation of processes which specifies organization and yet does not produce the components of the automobile, since the latter are produced by processes (in the factory and assembly plant) which are independent of the automobile and its operation.
