Transient systems
Description
Description

A system which is normally in a steady or equilibrium state is transient during the passage from one equilibrium to another. The term transient can be applied to a system whether the disequilibrium is short-lived or persistent. Biological (and social) systems, however, are transient as long as they may be described as living.
