Description
Description

Attempt to maintain the totality of a system, especially a religious system. It has been used extensively in polemical debates concerning the refusal of some Christians to consider any form of evolution. In addition, in the sense that it describes any religious or ideological adherence to an infallible record (e.g. holy book) or source (e.g. 'The Leader'), it has been applied to ideologues in Islam and Communism.
